Latino Paradox

Research data has found that Latino immigrants have better health compared to other immigrants living under the same condition and other wealthier white Americans. Not only that they have a lower risk of getting heart diseases and other major diseases, in fact, Latino immigrants have a lower rate of getting psychiatric or mental illness compared to other white Americans who have a higher income. Although they have low income and lived under so much pressure and stress, this condition does not seem to compromise their health status.

The fact that Latino immigrants have the best health compared to others is greatly an exceptional situation. In my personal view, in order to adapt to a new environment, immigrants should compromise their old lifestyle with the new ones, whereby these changes are in accordance with the country they are living now. How can Latino immigrants stay healthy despite living in a completely new environment is therefore a huge mystery to everybody.
